As I've known for years: I have a big God! Tonight, as I arrived home from the J.O.B. Paul & Vickie were out front with their realtor. Paul came over to my car to ask that I come meet her. He said there were some people interested in the place and they are also interested in me staying. Very cool! Amazing how God works. The house just went on the market Wednesday and today is Thursday. In today's economy, with homes being foreclosed on right and left, somebody is buying a home for "full price."
I am certainly thankful that they want me to stay on board! Paul said he's given me high praises to everyone they've met. Plus, Scully has made a good impression on all the people coming through. I can't say I see the future, but I'm hopeful in NOT having to move!
Keep on agreeing in prayer that this will remain our home!

Who Holds the Future
For many years I have said, "I don't know what the future holds, but I know Who holds the future." I've decided to write a song as that is the theme of my life. In reality, it is the theme of all our lives whether we admit it or not. Tomorrow is known to no man, but God knows what is in tomorrow.
As I suspected, my doctor did not return my calls about the uterine fibroids and instead put in for a referral to a surgeon. I received the authorization in the mail today. I rang the doctors' office and my appointment is for May 1st (appropriately named "May Day"). I went by the center that did my ultrasound to pick up the results for the appointment. Since I'm not a doctor I don't know what a couple of things in the report mean, but I'm gonna post it here verbatim:
"FINDINGS: Transabdominal and endovaginal imaging of the pelvis was performed. The uterus is mildly enlarged measuring 9 cm in length x 7 cm in AP dimension x 6.2 cm in transverse dimension. There are three leiomyomata; one is anterior uterine fundal 27 x 25 x 26 mm, another is fundal 29 x 23 x 20 mm and another one appears to be either in or directly adjacent to the endometrial cavity, possibly submucosal leiomyoma and measured 27 x 19 x 19 mm. I don't definitely see this presumed leiomyona splaying the endometrial stripe and therefore I supect this is a submucosal leiomyoma rather than an endometrial polyp. The endometrial thickness is difficult to evalute due to the leiomyoma in this region. There is no abnormal fluid collection seen in the endometrial cavity. The ovaries are normal, the right measures 27 x 18 x 26 mm and the left is 28 x 18 x 20 mm."
To clarify a couple of terms the word leiomyomata is the plural medical word for fibroids and leiomyoma is the singular medical word for fibroids. (Just in case: verbatim means word for word as written in the report. Including any misspelled words or grammatical errors. These people went to medical school not language school.) Also, if you don't know metric, there are 10 mm in 1 cm. A cm is a little less than half an inch. You can look up anything else you may want to know on the web. Good luck with that.
Anyway, as soon as I know when the surgery is I will post the info here. NOTE: the doc may not opt for surgery, however, that is my direction. Last week while I was on my period I was out of commission for about four days. I only took one full sick day from work and left early another day and one of the days was Sunday. Surgery is not always necessary, but in deteriorating quality of life I suspect it's the best way to go. Plus, when I get married and start having kids the fibroids will cause complications. (Don't get all excited! I haven't met him yet, but I still believe I will get married and have kids.)
That being said, next on the agenda: I was out of town for my annual Spring Leadership business conference this past weekend. I am off work today for the purpose of my seventh day of rest. Scully and I went out to run a couple of errands. When we arrived home Paul & Vickie were in the yard. I stopped to chat with Vickie for a moment before planning on going inside for lunch. Paul came around and asked me to have a seat saying that they had something to tell me. I said, "You're selling the house and moving." He let out and uncomfortable laugh and responded, "Well, yes."
He explained that they own another home in town that they have been renting out. The family renting from them called to see about getting out of their lease early (it's up in September). They are looking into buying a foreclosed home. The deal they worked out was to give each other 60 days notice for moving. The other house is less upkeep & costs. They had first offered it to their youngest son & daughter-in-law, but they declined. So, they are going to put this property on the market and move back into the other. As Paul stated, "We don't know how long it will take to sell it or how long it might take for the other family to find a place, but we're sure to be moving either way. It could work out that the people who buy this place would keep you and Scully on as renters."
Vickie commented that they knew about this a couple weeks ago. When we went to lunch together a week ago she said she couldn't tell me. Paul called her that night and she said, "I'm not telling Lisa & Scully they have to move." I responded, "I'm not worried about it. I've said for years I don't know what the future holds, but I know WHO holds the future. I am thankful that He chose to put us together because we're all friends now and we'll know each other for many years to come."
As I continue on this journey in life I know that I know that I know that GOD knows what is best for me and Scully. One of my friends always quoted two words from Psalms: "Come expecting." So, I come to a new day in my life looking forward to the future with anticipation & expectance of the great things My Heavenly Father has for me.
Join with me in prayer for the healing and the home.

The Last Time
Today was the funeral service for my two friends who were killed by a wrong way driver last Saturday. It wasn't as hard as most funerals I've attended since it was in Spanish. When they spoke slowly I only caught every third word or so. Once they sped up I managed to get every ten words or so. Although, I still find myself very weepy periodically during the day. It's weird coming into the office and thinking that I won't see Teo or Mario anymore.
Our warehouse manager was Teo's brother. He's leaving tomorrow for about a week to drive the ashes to where they grew up in Mexico. It's about a 30 hour drive one way. I became the default warehouse manager for the next several days. I've been doing lighting for almost 16 years so I know WHAT EVERYTHING is. However, we are in the middle of a warehouse remodel so nothing is WHERE it used to be...I'm really tired! I realize that it's a good experience doing somebody else's job for a while. Working in the warehouse was the only thing I hadn't done for this company. (I've been here almost nine years.)
Take some time to call the people you love to just say, "I love you!" I pray that those who read this who don't know Jesus as your Savior and Lord would make the effort to know Him. Call me, call another friend who knows Him, but don't leave this earth without knowing what your eternity holds for you. For those who know Him may you deepen your faith through the blessed work He has done in your lives! Blessed are those who have not seen yet they believe!

When will it be the last time...
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
This is from Isaiah 53:5-6. It's the reminder that Jesus paid for our sins through His sacrifice on the cross. We have gone our own way, but we have an opportunity today to turn from our selfishness and turn back to the God who created us.
When will it be the last time that we see each other? As I was leaving the office Friday evening one of our warehouse workers was driving onto the lot. We both smilled and waived at each other...for the last time ever. For the second time last week a wrong way driver took anothers' life. Saturday morning at 2:55 he and one of his friends (another of our warehouse workers) were killed in an accident on the freeway.

My two friends did not know the Lord. This reminds me of our responsibility to each other: to share the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ to all we come into contact with throughout our lives. Life on this earth is short. Nobody knows when God has ordained to take us home.
If you don't know the Lord today take the time to contact me or another friend of yours who knows Him. Allow Him to transform your life. I don't know what the future holds, but I know Who holds the future.

This Time It's Personal
The gospel music group The Winans have a song from years ago in which there's a section that basically says, "You're always praying for everyone else and now you have a need so it's time to lift that need up. This time it's personal."
I've been to numerous doctors over the past couple of months in an effort to get to the bottom of some symptoms I've been struggling with for a little more than a year. It's in relation to my monthly cycle. I've never had to deal with some of the effects of the monthly cycle - especially cramps. I would get cramps maybe once or twice a year. Mind you, they were horrible when I did, but it was that infrequent. The other thing about my cycle was that you could 'set your calendar by me'. In other words, it was always every 28 days. Over the last year and a half my cycle has become unpredictable (to say the least). Towards the end of 2007 I started having massive pain associated with it. So, I scheduled a doctors appointment.
After several appointments with various tests the conclusion is that I have three fibroid tumors in my uterus. The doc wants to treat the symptoms as they "don't know what causes fibroids or how to treat them." The way to treat the symptoms would be to put me on the pill. However, this "may or may not help alleviate some of the symptoms". Since I don't react well to pharmaceuticals I decided to hold off on their method of treating the symptoms to talk with somebody at the Better Life Institute. I heard back from Dr. Chet Vlasco this morning as I was driving to church. He recommended a couple of things by Nutrilite that I am already using (one of which I started in December and have noticed some alleviation of the symptoms) and also one supplement that I'm not using called Glucose Health. In the Glucose health it has an ingredient called Chromium picolinate which he said has been proven to help with various kinds of fibroids. I will start on that next week and see how that helps.
With my current doctors the next step is to check the tumors in six months to see if they are the same or if they have changed in any way. My proactive nature is that I am going to contact the insurance company (Blue Shield Access Plus HMO) to find out how I go about getting a second opinion. I am of the mind that even benign tumors don't belong in my body. NOTE: I have no idea if these tumors are benign or not. This is not something that the doctors have checked. That is part of the other reason for seeking my next step with my insurance company.
My prayer requests are simple: complete healing of the tumors so that at the next doctors appointment (whether in six months or sooner) there are no more tumors. Also, please pray for absolute favor with all whom I come in to contact on this issue. Obviously, some people won't see God's glory in my healing if there's not medical proof that I'm healed. Since God IS my healer I believe for His intervention in my health and my ultimate desire is to see His glory revealed in and through me.
As you have been faithful to pray for all those I pass thru your emails I now thank you for this personal need for which you will be intercedeing on my behalf.
Lots of love & have a Blessed Easter! (If you 're looking for somewhere to worship on Easter, The Church On the Way has three services Sunday morning! If you're there see ya at 8 am).
I will try to be faithful to keep any updates on my blog so check back here.

EDITED 25-Mar-08: The corporation has informed all IBO's that we are not allowed to post the videos on the web. Therefore, I am leaving the text of my original post and if you're interested in seeing the videos I can email them directly to you from my phone. Just leave a comment requesting that. I moderate my comments so your email will not be published on this blog.
Okay, so it's not even once-a-month, but I've been busy lately. I was at a seminar a couple weeks ago for the business I own. We have a new product coming out called Perfect Empowered Drinking Water™. The speaker demo'd the product and my younger sis was one of the "models" in the demo. Here are three cell phone videos of the before and after drinking the water. The first is before. They do a flexibility test and then a strength/balance (tip) test.
CONTENT REMOVED
The water is on advance order now with shipments starting mid-April. I had the opportunity to be tested this past weekend. Holy cow! I was amazed at the not being able to be tipped. In the before I had to fight to avaid being tipped - to no avail. I was tipped. After drinking just an ounce of the water I didn't have to fight, but couldn't be tipped.
If you wonder about it check out the website for Perfect Empowered Drinking Water™ and it will break down all the information about the water for you. I am taking advance orders now for the Saturday order I will be placing. If you have interest or want more information just let me know.
Have a blessed week!

Lisa's At Least Once-A-Month
Okay, okay, so it's not a bunch of stuff. I get tired easily lately and being upright and on the computer when I get home from the J.O.B. just doesn't afford me the energy to sit at the computer at home. I'm not sure what's making me so tired all the time. I've had several days when I've fallen asleep by eight in the evening only to wake up to the alarm the next morning. That's a ten-and-a-half hour night sleep!
There was a blood drive in the neighborhood where I work this week. While I'm morally opposed to needles I thought it would be a good idea to give anyway. When they make it that convenient there's really nothing to stop me. Plus, it's an hour away from being in the office so...
When they pricked my finger to check my hemoglobin they came back with it being a full two points too low for me to give. So, they decided that the five minutes I sat there not eating anything would give me enough time to raise it the two points. Where they get their science from I'll never know! Needless to say (but I'm saying it anyway) it went down more by the second test. Therefore, I couldn't give blood. What a darn shame! I'm all tore up over it.
That said, my physically is finally around the corner (beginning of February). I made the appointment in November! Good thing I'm not dying or anything. At least I know I need to get my iron again. I'm still going to wait so my doc can confirm if that is the problem or something else.
I felt I needed to post something since I had such a great vacation in Sedona, AZ the last week of 2007. I have a friend who owns a home there & he let me stay there rent free. He and his wife live in California so Scully & I had the place to ourselves. My oldest sis and brother-in-law came up from Tucson and stayed a few days as well. I must say that spending that time out in God's country is NOT condusive to wanting to go back to any job!
Here's a picture of Allen & I on top of Sugarloaf. Okay - nevermind - for some reason the image isn't uploading. It's not PBKAU - problem between keyboard and user - it's really not working. I know I'm not that computer savvy, but it really isn't working. When I get some free time at the job I'll put together a little slide show and post it. Hopefully, the attachment option will be working again.
Events for this weekend: go to memorial service on Saturday afternoon, try to make contact with a prospective business partner, church & sleep.
Have a great weekend!
